Our newest member is Mr. Phil Peters. Phil owns and operates the AMOS Patrol Services in Covina. He joined CSR with the encouragement of his wife while attending as a guest at our Service Club Picnic in 2022. The past couple of years have been pretty difficult times for our Club (as well as the world in general). We've had to cancel our annual fundraiser event at Hurst Ranch which provided a great party for the community while raising cash needed for our philanthropic projects. But now, with the prospect of things opening up and along with the 40th anniversary of our founding, we did a restart of the event. It was held at the Covina Woman's Club on May 14th, downsized just a bit, but it kept all the great things...(read more)

On Sunday, November 19, 2017, CSR created a group service club project in conjunction with Pauly’s Project to give back to the homeless in the skid row community of Los Angeles. Skid Row is no longer just a "row". A huge 54 block section of downtown Los Angeles has been the generally accepted limits of the area. Dozens if not hundreds of camps are set up in this area each with a dozen or so tents clustered. Our day saw us traveling with a caravan of cars to several of...(read more)

Thunderfest 2017 was held downtown Covina on Saturday, October 21. Covina Sunrise Rotarians were on site at the Beer Garden volunteering all day to set up, sell tickets, check ids & issue wrist bands, pour beer and more beer and tear down as well! A big thank you to all club members, family and friends that helped and a HUGE thank you to Galen and Kathy Metz for their tireless efforts. Without them, there would be no beer garden! Another successful community event and fundraiser!

Our flagship Operation Santa Clothes program has clothed over 35,000 kids with new clothes! We have also been able to provide over $50,000 in scholarships in seven high schools. OSC began in 1994 serving 73 children from one Covina school. The project focuses not only on provided clothing, but giving self esteem, character development, and a sense of caring to these kids. You can help with a tax deductible donation here. See our Santa Clothes page to make a donation or for more information.
