On June 8th, 2018, Covina Sunrise Rotary suffered a monumental loss - one of our own, Hugh Ledford, left us peacefully in his sleep. Although Hugh has been fighting for his life at City of Hope for several years, his time had come to pass. Hugh has been a Charter Member of CSR from its origin in 1982 and was a keystone of its existence ever since. He was present at nearly every event that CSR held and was a true Rotarian in every sense of the word.
On Saturday, June 16th, the Club and Hugh's family will honor him in a Celebration of Life party at our meeting place, District Field Conference Center in Covina. Doors will open at 10am with a brief program from the family scheduled at 10:30. Video presentations and Hugh's favorite rock 'n' roll music will be in the air with food and beverages to be consumed. Hugh had wanted this event to be a "party" and even specified that he wanted everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts and no black attire! Guests with classic cars are encouraged to bring them to the event in Hugh's honor and for his love of the classics.
We shall miss Hugh's presence in every meeting, every event, and truly every day of our lives.
